365 Project: 1 – Follow the White Rabbit

First off, Happy New Years to everyone. I’d like to introduce you all to the 365 Project. This project will include new personal works by me every single day of the year. Among a lot of things I will be releasing on here, I will be focusing mainly on character designs and illustrations to get back into my animation background. One of the reasons I am releasing this on New Years day is to find a way to stay obligated to my resolution, which is to work more on my own personal work.

DESIGN: Collaborations with Brian the Dogg

Below are a few sketches from Brian the Dogg that I’ve had the pleasure of inking and coloring. I’ve worked on more designs with him than I have with anyone because our styles compliment each other very well. Brian is a modest fellow, but he is responsible for a lot that goes on behind the scenes at AnmlHse. His job is to usually create a concept or detailed sketch and leave the rest to me to illustrate. Its always an exciting process.

DESIGN: BP – Bigger Problems

It’s been a while since I did anything on here. It didn’t take much for my boy Chris to convince me to do an anti-BP poster. With all the oil spill news, I have grown to love the BP logo. It says we’re simple, professional, and we care about our environment. Just the fact that an oil company decided to go green way after the movement begin makes it that much more inviting. You know why people are still pumping their tanks at BP? Because they’ve created a branding that will make you believe that they care.
For the graphic below, I recreated the BP logo and glorified it while subtly pointing out the obvious. Color psychology will play a huge role in convincing you that this is a peaceful and calming design.
