DESIGN: BP – Bigger Problems

It’s been a while since I did anything on here. It didn’t take much for my boy Chris to convince me to do an anti-BP poster. With all the oil spill news, I have grown to love the BP logo. It says we’re simple, professional, and we care about our environment. Just the fact that an oil company decided to go green way after the movement begin makes it that much more inviting. You know why people are still pumping their tanks at BP? Because they’ve created a branding that will make you believe that they care.

For the graphic below, I recreated the BP logo and glorified it while subtly pointing out the obvious. Color psychology will play a huge role in convincing you that this is a peaceful and calming design.

This one was done just to show how much fun BP CEOs are having out there. Care to join?

Unofficial: Bloomsburg University Mascot t-shirt design.
It’s been a while since I’ve done any sketches of animals…go figure. This project helped me get right back on track. The idea was to capture Bloomsburg University’s mascot and add an edge to it.

DESIGN: Theo Martins – Kirby’s Airwalk

Thanks for all the support leading up to last month’s drop of ‘ “Channel Surfin” mix tape. It was the perfect lead-in to SXSW, where I was blessed to rocked shows solo and with UNI, Pac Div and a bunch of others.

I recently partnered with DJBooth.net, and the site will release his long-awaited EP “You Can’t Do That On Television” this month. The project is a collaboration with upcoming Ohio-based producer $port, and the name takes its cue from the Canadian sketch comedy television program, which eventually became a Nickelodeon staple in the early 90s. The sound is futuristic, but inspired by that era. The first leak song from the EP is “Kirby’s Airwalk.”

DESIGN: AIME – When It’s Cold Outside

This is my boy AIME. I’ve known him for a few years now and have been slowly learning how similar we are. Amongst the few, AIME is Haitian bred, spent parts of his life in the Poconos, and now living in Philadelphia. Look out for his upcoming compilations, When It’s Cold Outside.

L’Union Fait La Force Tees

This isn’t a limited edition tee or an AnmlHse exclusive. This is a design I did with help from my family members and others in the community to spread more awareness to this crisis. My printer has been generous enough to get a lot of these done for me in a days time. So as long as there are orders, there will be stock. Rest assured that 100% of the proceeds will be sent to YELE.

As part of the Haitian community, I felt that this was my way to give back with what I am capable of doing. So far, I have a few organizations getting these out to their relief events as well as doing orders through my site for individuals. If you are part of the community or not, and would just like to lend a hand, please do so here or here. If you want to get involved in spreading awareness, please feel free to contact me.

DESIGN: Interview with Convention Mag

Convention Mag approached us for an interview a few months back. We were well aware of their project and were pleased to be involved. This gave us a good opportunity to express who we really were and what we really do. Since we haven’t done an interview in a while we decided we should create some new imagery to keep us updated and give a proper introduction to anyone who hasn’t heard of us yet. Our buddy Shannon kindly offered us her studio.
First, we did a bunch of single shots…

Wait, how’d I get there?

Then, we composited all the images.

A quick color correction.

Then we added some cool elements to bring out our lovely eyes.

Then some more final tweaking in Photoshop – toning down colors, adding gradients, giving Brian a hairline, and some 40 ounces. There you have it!
