January 11th, 2011

I don’t smoke or drink heavy. I feel I’m more productive by cutting a lot of those activities out my life.

There’s a wild bunch in Philadelphia that I’m happy to be a part of. They’re called The AnmlHse Bunch. They drive me insane, but they motivate me and drive my creativity.

365 Project: 7 – Chuck Jones Inspired Bunny & Rabbit

January 7th, 2011

A friend of mine asked me the other day why I chose the name Rabbit. Being mostly influenced by the works of Chuck Jones, I found that I related with one of the main characters he had a huge hand in shaping – Bugs Bunny. Choosing the name was more of a homage to the man rather than the character itself, even Jones would say how he found himself turning into Bugs. If there were three words to describe the combination of Bugs and Jones: adventurous, spontaneous, and inspirational.

I’ve taken subtle element of Chuck Jone’s style and adapted it into the illustration below. Some examples which are seen primarily on the left character are the line weight, curling smile, drooping ears, and even body language. The character on the right was a late addition, so I didn’t get much time to give him the full effect as well.
